Oneplus Nord Review

Finally after many leaks the device itself is here with many intresting features. The launch event from Oneplus is little delay because of the pandemic. The device includes a 90Hz AMOLED display, 5G-enabled Snapdragon 765G chipset, dual-selfie camera, and fast-charging support at a really attractive price. The Oneplus Nord isn’t here to replace the firm’s flagship offerings; rather, it’s the first in a whole new product line.

Design & Display

The OnePlus Nord is an attractive phone. The most striking thing about our particular unit is the color, which OnePlus calls Blue Marble. It’s the perfect shade of cyan that we have longed to see on phones again since the days when Nokia dominated the market. You get the same premium build and finish as on the flagship OnePlus 8 series, with a metal frame sandwiched between Gorilla Glass on the front and rear.

You have the dual-cam punch-hole at the top left on the front and a vertical quad-camera array on the rear. OnePlus Nord has an in-display fingerprint sensor. The alert slider is present on the right.

As for the front, OnePlus Nord features a 6.44-inch Full-HD+ Fluid AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 180Hz touch response rate. The panel boasts a 20:9 aspect ratio, 2400 x 1080 pixels resolution, sRGB support, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top. The volume rocker sits on the opposite side, while on the base you’ll find a centralized USB-C port flanked by a speaker and the dual SIM card port; there’s no headphone jack on the OnePlus Nord, however.

OnePlus says the Nord does have water resistance, but it doesn’t carry an official IP rating, which would guarantee its dust- and water-repelling abilities, while it claims the handset has been plunged into 30cm of water for 30 minutes and survived, you might want to be a little careful.

The headline feature of the OnePlus Nord is its ‘flagship’ camera setup. There are a total of six cameras on the handset, four on the rear and two on the front, the most OnePlus has ever put on a smartphone.

OnePlus Nord makes its debut with a quad-camera array on the rear. It is helmed by the exact same 48MP (f/1.75) Sony IMX586 sensor that you will find aboard the flagship OnePlus 8. It will come as a relief to many that the primary camera supports OIS, as well as EIS, to help improve video stability. Your Nightscape pictures will also see an improvement, thanks to this valuable addition on this mid-ranger. On the front the main 32MP, f/2.45 snapper is accompanied by an 8MP, 105-degree ultra-wide-camera, which should come in useful when it comes to taking group selfies.

There’s a bunch of shooting modes, including portrait, nightscape, super macro and pro, plus Full HD, slow-motion video capture at 240fps and 4K recording at 30fps.

Oneplus always remember on the basis of its lightning speed charging . From the very first Oneplus phone the company always supplied a fast charger in its box & the tradition of giving best charging expierence to its customers is also present in Nord.

OnePlus Nord equipped with a modest 4,115mAh battery pack, paired with Warp Charge 30T fast-charging support onboard. This is slightly smaller than the battery of OnePlus 8. The 30W charging speed remains the same though. The company claims that you can charge the phone from 0% to 70% in around 30 minutes.

There is no wireless charging support however – another area where some corners had to be cut in order to keep the price down.

When it comes to giving best performance in the mobile phones the only name comes to our mind is ‘Oneplus‘. The phone comes with the all new chipset from Qualcomm, the phone equipped with Snapdragon 765G, It is a 5G-enabled chipset that launched alongside the Snapdragon 865.

The chipset is paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of built-in storage. And this is where OnePlus has cut some corners. You don’t get faster UFS 3.0 storage here. The Nord instead comes with UFS 2.1 storage in tow, which is a little disappointing.

The OnePlus Nord comes with 5G support, which means you can take advantage of next-generation network speeds when they become available in your area.

One of the things that OnePlus phones are known for is fluid software experience. OnePlus Nord is backed by OxygenOS 10.5 based on Android 10 out-of-the-box.
